I've not posted in a while so as I've been over to New York recently I thought I would share. I've posted my favourite one from each day I was there but if you can see the full set (170 odd shots) here. One thing to bear in mind is that they're not all 'photographer' shots and some are just ordinary 'holiday snaps' so don't get too critical please :) . Hope you like them anyway...

Day 1: Times Square looking South...

Day 2: Ellis Island looking back towards Manhattan...

Day 3: Another Times Square shot but a bit experimental this time. I bought a Sigma 10-20 from an excellent photography shop that morning (not sure if I'm allowed to mention it so think golden fag packets for the time being - mods please delete reference altogether if it's not OK to say that). I'm sure it's not in the official photographer's rules but this was a panning shot at 10mm...

Three more to follow...

Actually I lied. There are 4 more to follow as I couldn't pick a favourite from day 4...

These guys were playing chess in Washington park. Unbelievably one of them was from Luton...

My other day 4 pick was from the 'Top of the Rock' (Viewing deck at the top of the Rockefeller Center). IMO a much better place to see NY as you get a great view of the Empire State Building...

Day 5 is from Battery Park right at the Southern tip of Manhattan island...

Day 6 - Last one. Another from The Rockefeller Center but this time at the skating rink at the bottom.

Very nice photos, 5 is my favorite and i agree with you about the rock too seemed a much better idea to see NY with the empire state in it than from the empire state. I visited NY back in November as part of my honeymoon and the rock had only just reopened thankfully, get some brilliant views of centre park from there too.

And they have the best lifts (elevators if you must) ever. The glass ceiling is very cool.
