Hello,

Going in June with a bunch of the girls... the birthday girl hasn't been to NYC before so wanted to put together a list of eating musts!

It's her birthday celebration on the sat night so will want to eat somewhere in the theatre area (if there is such a place!)

So far I have the following places covered:
Steak
Burgers
Cheesecake

Not v healthy! :(

Magnolia Bakery has to be added to the list and as a girly bonus was in the Sex and the City. You won't find a better cupcake - I think they might even top Lozza's ones...

While you're in Brooklyn, Grimaldi's for pizza - another place where you have to queue for some time, but I regret not queueing for it.

Grimaldi's is fantastic! I walked for miles to get there and it was so worth it.

I would argue that the cupcakes at Two Little Red Hens on 86th Street and 2nd Ave are better than Magnolia's though.

Magnolias is tiny, often crowded, the staff seem pretty grumpy, the area isn't particularly nice (there was a drunk outside when I went there)... and the cupcakes are nothing special :(

They have a few different stores, the original, one in Sex and the city is in Bleeker Street, there is another by Rockefeller.

I am not a big cake fan so I think they are ok. Just a cupcake with a mountain of icing on top.

But, you should still go, just because its a NYC thing and its not in anywhere else in the world.

I heard they have a crazy amount of McDonald's there... you should purchase a big mac then jog to the next one whilst eating it. Rinse and repeat, see how long you last. It could be some sort of epic marathon.

Oh and you have to go to at least one momofuku place.

Ssam bar is good, especially with booker and Dax to wait in next door for amazing cocktails, and milk bar (their bakery) does amazing pastries/pies/cakes!
