Hi all

Probably a simple issue but I've just installed a new mobo and CPU. Everything has powered on etc but I've no internet now. Have tried to install from driver cd but this hasn't worked. I got a message saying something like it being an issue with an having an older version or something.

Any ideas? Have I to enable anything in bios or something?

I've downloaded the drivers off the Asus website from my fathers PC and will try this later.

Just unzip them any where and run the setup icon.

My asus drivers come "blocked". To unblock them you just have to right click on the Zipped file > Properties > Unblock (bottom right hand corner), then extract them and run the asus setup.

Tried this and no luck. It says "the installed version of Intel Network Connections is not supported for upgrades. You must uninstall it before installing this version"

How do I uninstall this?

You could try going into the device manager and in the networking tab right click on the network adapter and uninstall, then attempt to install the driver again :)

Thanks got it working finally. I've an issue now where my ram is showing as 2133 MHz when it is meant to be 3000 MHz. I've enabled XMP in the bios and it's still showing as slower than it should be. Any ideas?

Is that in just in the Windows task manager? If so nothing to worry about, check what the BIOS says or CPU-Z

When reading cpu-z you will need to double what speed is being shown.

But looking at the board specs anything over 2333mhz is classed as a overclocked.

Pop back into the BIOS and see if you can manually increase the memory multiplier.

If this fails, looking at the specs of the motherboard you will need to increase the BKCL on the cpu which will intern increase the cpu speed and memory speed, but I would read up how todo this as I have only ever done the multiplier and voltage for overclocking.

Thanks. But why should I have to overclock ram to bring it to it's advertised speed? Seems a bit of a con for those that aren't clued up on overclocking etc?

Remember it's double data rate, so CPU-Z will report it as half of 2133, which is 1067 or there abouts, so 1099 sounds fine to me.

(I know this doesn't help you with why it's not running at 3000, but at least it helps explain the BIOS to CPU-Z discrepancy)

It mentions it the motherboard specs, the brackets besides the memory options, in my mind mean 2 things, you either load the XMP profile or you manually setup the speed, have you gone into the BIOS and see if you can raise the multiplier?

A word of warning, dont bother with the sound drivers on the disc. Mine gave me crackling and popping.
The newer ones from the website work fine though.
