Just bought this http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18141644

Now original idea was to use it as a NAS but am now wondering if it'll be ok to just stick it under the TV and use it as a NAS / media player to replace the WD Live I currently use.

So questions I have are:

What can I use to connect the above to my Samsung series 6 TV? It doesn't have a HDMI port, think it's svideo.

What do I need to connect the sound from the above to my samsung surround sound?

Case wise I am looking for something small that will take 2 3.5" hard disks - Samsung eco green 2 TB and a western Digital green 1 TB, what woudl look ok ish under a Tv for a max of £100.

What power supply do I need, heard mention of a pioc, but haven't a clue about these.

Final question what software would be the best to use for this application?

Hope you can help this total newb.

regards,

Matt

You use VGA/DVI to the TV and S/PDIF or analogue outputs for the audio.

Bear in mind it won't play anything HD, it's not quick enough the GPU won't do the decoding.

For HDMI you'd want an Ion based ITX board or system. Yes, you can fit two HDDs in that case but 2nd 3.5" HD means the Optical drive has to be a slimline
