Having never played an MMO or an RPG since zelda on the NES, what do you recommend me? Something easy to get into but still has depth.

Wildstar, easy to get to grips with but there is no free trail as of yet. The game has loads of content endgame for a new release MMO

Veteran Adventures
Veteran Dungeons
Raids
Pvp Battle grounds
PvP Areans
PvP Warplots

I would suggest getting friends of making them in the game as its heavily focused on communication with telegraphs and tactics.

Join the PvP server Ravenous and join our guild [The Immortals] we are always happy to help newbs

World of Warcraft is a polished and accessible MMO experience, if a little dated now.

From what I have read, Wildstar offers something similar, but is a more up to date take on the genre.

In your position I would probably try Wildstar, as it is still a new game so you won't be alone as a newb to it. :)

Play something from a Genre you enjoy. Don't necessarily go for something f2p (free to play) either. Most established MMOs will have a decent player base that will gladly offer help if you ask.

Eve Online whilst having the steepest learning curve of any MMO also has specific groups of players (Corps) setup to help new players.

OcUK have many player run Corps/Guilds/Player groups, call it what you will, across pretty much every game and genre, a quick search of these forums should bring a few to your attention.

Ha-ha yeah your right there, but he will thank me later when he's a better player for it! :D

how does being a low level being ganked by max ranks make you a better player xD

that was my experience of leveling on a wow pvp server :p

"oh cool I'll just take down a few of these critters" *gets one shotted* " wait.... what?! .... oh....." :( *enemy player with skull level bounces off into the distance*

That didn't happen to me very often, allot of my PvP battles where with others around the same level. I would say it defiantly makes you more aware of your surroundings, but be careful. I once tried to gank a guy who had a costume on thinking he was around the same level. He let me hit him a few times then chased me down when I relised he was end level :p

hehe yeah, doesn't help when you're in a pvp known spot like the barrens cross roads :p alliance just loveddddddddd hiding about for us noobs :( NO HONOR! but when I got a bit higher level on a normal server I enjoyed the little pvp encounters in TBC lands, played a druid and my mate had a rogue so we'd both stealth up and then tear the guy a new one xD hehehe

I remember first watching my mate play a mage with a low ish level.... we were running (through barrens again I think) and then he saw a high level, fired on shot and then shouted "RUN!!!" ....was soooo funny watching this guy chase us while we were spamming blink to try and get away.... chased us for a good few mins before we got destroyed hehe xD

but personallyl I leave the pvp for the battlegrounds (unless there's someone flagged outside an instance.....e.g. some end game raids xD that can always get interesting ;)
