Hi, I am using a Sempron 3100+, My motherboard (socket 754) can take a Athlon64 3700+. Will I notice much of a difference if I put a 3700+ in it (providing I can find one somewhere)?

Thanks for your advice. :)

The Sempron 3100 + runs at 1.8 Ghz with 256kb of cache.
The Athlon 64 3700+ runs at 2.4 Ghz with 1mb of cache.
I would say it would certainly be a worthwhile upgrade BUT I imagine they're going to be rare as hen's teeth & priced to match. If you can get one for £60 or so, go for it. Otherwise, consider a socket 939 cpu & cheap motherboard, which can still just about be had new at retail for decent money & wil let you use your DRR memory.
