Newbie Building a new computer and need some help

8GB RAM is fine for gaming. If you went higher you would need to be looking at expanding the OS because Home Premium can only take 16GB and 16GB RAM plus 2GB VRAM = 18GB.

Oh and I personally would get the 7950's because of the 3GB VRAM which could be handy over 3 screens. What power supply will you be using for a multi gpu setup?

Just browsing this thread. You mentioned about the RAM limit with OS, is this the same for mobo? Just wondering because I have 16GB RAM and am looking to get 2GB DDR5 video card. If my mobo only takes 16GB (which it does) will it not work?

You will be fine.

What is it about these that make them good does ram work better the more MHz it has or?

Thanks sorry for all the questions

The only difference between these and the ones I specced is slightly lower timings. But in every day use you would`nt notice the difference.

You don`t want high profile ram with an air cooler. Besides you will not see any benefit between those and the ones I have already listed. You would just be wasting money.

To be honest, if I were you I would learn a bit more about computers before venturing into water cooling. It can be very expensive and even more so if you don`t know what you are doing.
