Hi all.
I fairly new to this overclocking.
My set up is: Asus Maximus Formula X38
Intel Core 2 Duo E8500 LGA775 'Wolfdale'
OCZ 4GB (2x2GB) PC2-6400C4 800MHz Reaper HPC Enhanced Bandwidth Edition Dual Channel DDR2 (8 GIG)
2 X HIS ATI Radeon HD 3870 XT ICEQ3 TURBO 512MB GDDR4 TV-Out/Dual DVI/HDMI in crossfire.
2 X Western Digital Raptor X 150GB 10000RPM SATA 16MB Cache

Can someone post some settings for overclocking plse?
I've had a little mess with the fsb settings but I need to know what voltages etc to increase so it runs stable.
Thanks in advance.

Speirs.

Hi Speirs, I'm not an overclocking guru, but can give you some pointers to start off with. The most important thing is to keep an eye on your cpu temperature, the higher it gets the more likely you are to have crashes, have data loss, you may corrupt your operating system, and even kill the cpu. So go into your bios and find the Hardware Monitor section and see what your CPU temp is. I wouldn't suggest overclocking until you're sure that you have adequate cooling and that it is installed correctly (and thus a cool enough cpu temp to start overclocking).

Many thanks for replies.
I will post back results.
I'm having IDirect3DVertexBuffer9::Lock failed:n\a(Unknown) problems now on 3dmark06, even when I've put setting back to stock.
Any ideas?
I've got all the latest drivers etc.

I would suggest reinstalling your graphics card drivers:

download the driver for your gfx card
download and install Driver Cleaner Pro
boot into safe mode
uninstall your gfx card via device manager
reboot back into safe mode
run Driver Cleaner Pro and clean out any ati files
reboot into safe mode
install the driver for your gfx card
reboot and hopefuly your good to go

something may have got corrupted when you overclocked, so start here and see if that fixes the issue
