Newbie here needs help lol

Hi im new to this, my names Ash and im 19.Just looking for some help really. I've got a decent pc but i would like to know how to overclock it as i really dont have a clue. my rig is:

xp pro,vista home premium and ubuntu
500gb sata hd
2x dvdrw drives
twin 8800gts 320mb
amd athlon 6000+ x2
4gb xms2 ram @ 800mhz
asus m2n32 sli deluxe wifi edition
and thats it really. i would like some recommendations on how to increase my performance as i cannot afford to put a lot of money into it as i've recently been made redundant. i'll be looking forward to your help.

Hey, and welcome to the forums :)

Firstly, Id recommend having a read through the stickys on here, mainly the Beginners Guide to get a basic understanding of what you have to do. Then theres the Advanced Guide to Overclocking and Cooling which is mainly about cooling to be honest, but if your going to be doing any serious overclocking, your gonna have to improve your cooling, so its worth a read :)

These are both a few years old, but the basics dont really change and they're still pretty relevant and helpful. Have a read through and then ask back here if you need us to clarify any points for you.

ok thanks ducky spud, cooling is a problem at the minute, gonna try and get some new coolers on the cards and i got a zalman cpu cooler on the way
