Hi all, first time post any feedback would be welcome

New Build Spec

Antec 902 Nine Hundred Two Ultimate Gaming Case
Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping 2.66GHz
Coolermaster V8 Performance CPU Cooler
Gigabyte EX58-UD5 Intel X58 DDR3 Motherboard
OCZ Reaper 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-15000C9 Tri-Channel
XFX ATI Radeon HD 4890 1024MB GDDR5
Seagate Barracuda 7200RPM 500GB SATA II
LG GGW-H20L Blu-Ray Rewriter & HD-DVD ROM
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy SE 7.1 Sound Card
Corsair TX 850w Silent Power Supply

This comes in at around £1000 (without a screen which I will shop around for at a later date)

About to buy the bits to start building this machine. Is this enough cooling to start playing with the overclocking? I would like to achieve 3.5 stable

Will it be a good gaming machine and ok for photo editing in ‘light room and Photoshop ?’

When the next gen.11 graphics cards come out will they fit in this motherboard ?

Going to run i7 trail version until it come out, is it time for 64bit ?

thanks for taking the time to read

looks good, plenty cooling, personally id go for the noctua cooler, but thats just cos ive used noctua b4 and theyre good, havent used the v8, sure its good though, youll easy get 4GHz stable, nvm 3.5, it will be very good gaming machine, enjoy

The audigy sound card is pretty old and I don't think driver support is great. I'd go with an asus xonar dx/d1 if I were you.

V8 cooler is not the best, get the megahalems + noctua p12 fan. Much better cooling and very quiet.

Ok, I've updated the sound card to the asus xonar d1.

Overclockers dont seem to stock Megahalems.

So will the titan ttc- NK85YZ be ok ?, its cheaper than the V8 as well

thanks for your help

its for use with the CPU cooler, the megahalem is sold without any fan, you need to add one to it for good cooling, unless you want to run passively (you dont)
