My unlimited web bolt on with o2 simplicity isn't going to kick until next month can I turn off the GPRS/Edge so it doesn't rack up big data bills and just use wifi for the time being?

Turning it off is a bit hit and miss because it sometimes starts again when it needs data.. if you put random nonsense in the Edge settings it should error whenever it tries to use data instead.

Do you still need to unlock the iPhone to use a O2 simplicity contract sim card? Plus what features would be unavailiable compared to a factory iPhone on a O2 contract?

Woo i know stuff now! :)
It would need to be atleast jailbroken yes.

You would not be able to take advantage of the unlimited web browsing - and if you did web browse out of your wifi areas you would pay through the teeth :)

Thats what I'm on and am posting this from. So it should be fine.

So for only £25 a month I can get O2 Simplicity Online 25 with the Unlimited Web Bolt On which will give me 1000 texts, 600 minutes, unlimited browsing and no contract period (30 days). Compared to £35 a month for 600 minutes, 500 texts, unlimited browsing and a 18 month contract.

I know that I would loose visual voicemail and free access to some WiFi hotspots but for £10 less a month and no contract it seems like a good deal. Have I got this right?
