Newbie Music creation software

Recently i've thought of having a go at some audio creation with stuff ive recorded(something like eJay), but ive looked arounf the web and im kinda out of my depth.

So does anyone have any idea as to what would would be good for a nebie to the whole thing?

Thanks, just got the demo of magix and ill try fruity loops as well

Tried fruity loops as well, found it mind boggling
But i like magix, so ill be trying that further, thanks for the help.
