Not sure if I should post this here or in oc forum but over there seemed more to do with CPUs.
Thought I would have a go at oc my new Asus GTX460 1Gb that's running fine in stock mode (675/1800 & 1350 shader). I've researched on this and the card is supposed to be easily oc to 850/2100 in a safe condition.
My method is as per instructions found widely on the web. Using MSI Afterburner and opening Nvidia Inspector to confirm readings I increased the core clock by just 5 MHz increments, each time running Furmark for 5 minutes and noting down the av & max fps, temp and auto fan speed for each increment. However on reaching just 700 the screen freezes after just a few seconds in Furmark and then the pc crashes followed by an auto reboot where it states that it has just recovered from a serious error.
This has happened 4 times in a row. Surely I have not reached the limit of this card? I must be doing something wrong. I haven't increased the memory slider yet as I read that is increased after finding the optimum core clock speed.
Can anybody spot what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks
