newbie, oldie card help!

Hi guys

wonder if you can help ive been around PC gaming for sometime but not kept up to date equipment wise , im looking to update my graphics card ive got a moderate budget of only around £80 any advice for cards, im a NVIDIA user but would be open to a change to radeon, only thing ive heard is radeon cards are more for non-gamers? also im not into online gaming

any help guys? thanks in advance

What's the spec of your current PC? You best bet is probably a new 6850 at around £80, but you'd have to need to wait for it to go on sale as they are current on £100.

But from my own experience, online games particularly for mmos performance is mostly limited by the CPU, as they are usually quite CPU damanding (with lots of group members and enemies on screen at the same time).
 
sorry guyz me again, with regards new cards, is better to go for more Core mhz? and is DDR3 better then DDR5? in other words a DDR5 card with 1gb V a DDR3 card with 2gb etc etc

Versus

also would they both be ok off a 470w thermalake psu

cheers, i dont want to go 2nd hand sadly and my budget is £80 so if the 550 Ti is they way fwd so be it, how about the power 470Watt ok?
