Hi there, I have had my i7920 C0 for a few months now and have been reading about how to overclock. When i intially purchased the machine it came with the standard intel cooler. I have since picked up a Titan Fenrir cooler as i have heard good things and some decent thermal paste. As i am quite methodical about these things i would like to document my process carefully. I have prime95 to test the system and a cpu temp program to monitor the 4 cpu core temps. What id like to know is what test should i do/how long in prime to get accurate load temp for the standard vs fenrir cooler? What is the desired temps? Max temps?
I know when i overclock the machine i should leave it on for 4-12 hours to check for bsod/stability. Is it the torture test you do or another?
I tested the standard cooler for 20 mins on prime95 torture test for 20 mins and the temps reached 70 degrees and were about 5-7 degrees above ambient at idle. Is this ok?
Any advice would be appreciated!
