Hi all!
Very new at PC building. Having a go as my son would like a gaming PC.
The issue I'm having is this, I bought a Phanteks case which is great but when I went to connect all the wires I can't connect the front panel plug as there's nowhere directly for it. It's a 9 pin plug with only 4 wires in it and the corresponding pins don't match up. Is the only option to try and find which wire is which and connect them individually without a plug? My mobo is a asus Z87-k.
Cheers.

Thank you for the welcome! I imagine I'll be here frequently before i have this finished!!
The case is a Phanteks XT Pro ultra. I would post a pic but I can't figure out how to do that! I clicked on the picture symbol but I couldn't get to my camera roll.

Is this the right manual?

The power_sw seems to be a 4 pin connecter but the mobo only has a 2 pin connecter, Do you have a reset switch cable? As I can see it labelled in the picture at the top but when looking at the cables it does not show this.

I think they have combined the power_sw and the reset button in to 1 cable which is why it could be 4 pin instead of 2

Hi all. I think I have solved it as best I can. I have arranged the four pins which I have figured out are two for the power switch and two for the reset button along the one side of the plug so that it fits the motherboard. Bit of a nuisance but hopefully it will work!

Yes it's probably quite old indeed. I started off going with older stuff I got for a few quid and have ended up buying some better stuff so will likely have to update it soon. Son will surely let me know if it isn't up to scratch!!
Many thanks all for your contributions! I have it all wired up now and will try it soon!
