I'm looking at purchasing my first D-SLR and have been eyeing up the D80 after having a feel of one and reading reviews etc. However, I have one, maybe odd, question.
I want to get a filter for it (probably a UV one as I have read they seem to be a basic one used for protection) however they seem to come in different sizes.
How do I know which size I need if I were to order the D80 online and a filter at the same time? I'm looking at the D80 with the 18-70mm kit lens, however filter sizes vary from 52mm to 77mm from what I can see.
Anyone shed any light please, possibly with first hand recommendations and an explanation of why there are different sizes.
