hi guys,

this may sound like a daft question but in the networking section i see 2 categories... cable routers and adsl routers.

Which one should I be looking in.. I am on a BT line and my ISP is onetel?

Any suggestions for a wireless router would be helpful.. Need wired connections on it too!

Tanx

The majority of wireless routers will have at least 4 wired ports on them also.

as A2Z mentioned, linksys are a good make

Depending on the size of your house, you could probably do away with the hub and just stick that router in its place and connect the 2 pcs into its wired ports, then the laptop downstairs should pick up the wireless signal from upstairs.

yeah that would be ideal but to be honest i cant be bothered with the hassle of putting another cable up through the attic! I have just one cable coming from existing router into hub and then two out from the hub... It took me about half a day to get wire up through attic.. such an awkward job in this house! Existing router is playing up so think im due a change anyways.

Whats difference between hub and bridge? And am I using my hub correctly ie 1 wire in, 2 out?
