newbie to mem

i just bought 4x 1g of pc 8500 geil black dragon but left all the mem settings to auto on p35c ds3r board but it says on overclockers that the mem is 2.2v to 2.4v do i need to change it to get to 1066mhz or leave it at auto will it still be at 1066mhz ?

Auto may make voltage lower than default 2.2v but Auto will set it to 1066 normally if it reads them as PC8500 using the SPD.

how do ya find out if its reading it at 1066 ?

in cpu-z it says under spd max bandwidth pc2-6400 (400mhz) on all mem slot selection

Yours should say 533mhz(x2)

but yet in the part number it says cls-5-5-5ddr21066 5 watever that means wonder why its reporting it wrong ?
