Newbie to over clocking, please help.

Hey guys i need some tips on overclocking.

First things first, these are my specs:

Iv read all the tutorials on overclocking, but the new MSI Bios is very different to the old one i was used to, so i was wondering if someone could give me a step to step guide on the things to up and down as iv seen a few posts on people bricking there SB's so as im not as experienced as i would like to be, as much help as possible would be great.

Id love to get it to around 4.80ghz but stable.

Any help would be great, i can provide pictures and screenshots on anything needed.

hey i did as you said, but i got a BSOD every time before it reached the desktop. Im really quite new to this sorry, am i ment to disable some stuff heres a picture of the bios (sorry for quality).

hey thanks for reply, im using bios version 1.4, il update it.

Also do you mean do as zAndy said but multi of 40 or just increase the multi?

Ok, so iv overclocked my cpu to 4.4ghz, i also had a go at overclocking my gpu after reading a thread about the 470.

Iv been running prime95 for the last hour and my temps are sitting around around 78 - 81.

I just want to run this by you guys to make sure everythings how it should be and if this is to hot.

Also one is one a lot hotter then the others?

yah i think im going to recheck/reapply the termal paste as it seems to be getting very varied core temps
