Hi Guys

Im after some help im totally new to overclocking ive read up on the subject. And started to overclock my CPU a little. Ive got a AMD phenom x4 9950 black edition on stock cooler. On a Gigabyte GA-MA770-UD3 770 Socket AM2+ 7.1 Channel Audio ATX Motherboard. With 8gb of OCZ gold ram and a radeon 4850 512 gddr3.

Now ive overclocked the cpu with a simple multiplyer change and a voltage boost from 2.6ghz std to 2.8ghz...

Now im after some advice ide like to get it to 3ghz. Is this ok on the stock cooler? Also what is the best way to get 3ghz?

Did you really need the voltage boost to get 2.8 stable? Really another 200 should be no problem on the stock cooler assuming it's not clogged up and isn't a piece of crap. If you're going to be boosting the voltage again, like ogg said, it's probably going to need an aftermarket cooler to keep yourself within a comfortable operating temperature.

Yeah good point, I know sod all about overclocking AMDs, but my G0 Q6600 @ 3.6ghz is set at 1.425 (set in BIOS) but after vdrop and vdroop it's around 1.4v

Once you get to 3ghz you can probably drop the volts a couple of notches :)
