Hi everyone. Im very new to all this overclocking and was wondering if what i have done is ok. I have a Asus P5KPL-VM motherboard with a Q6600 2.40GHz quad core processor which at the moment i have managed to overclock up to 2.88GHz going on to the bios menu and overclocking by 15 or 20%. My cpu temp at the moment is 36C peeking out at around 43C, each processor is at a steady 25C. Is this normal and could i go any highing if so how and would it be safe? Thanks

You will require the following programs:

http://www.cpuid.com/download/cpu-z-142.zip (for your O/C and ram timings)

core temp to monitor your temps while stress testing http://www.alcpu.com/CoreTemp/CoreTempBeta.zip

prime to stress all four cores of the Q6600 O/C for stability http://www.freewarefiles.com/program_9_91_19638.html

If you want to additionally use core temp with vista. To get Coretemp 0.95.4 working in Vista X64 without having to disable the driver signing requirement.

file download from here http://forums.erodov.com/local_links...id=11&catid=18

Extract this to your favorite directory (say C:\CoreTemp)

Just make sure before you start the actuall "CoreTemp.exe", you run "coretemp-startup.bat" first
