Greetings.

I have never overclocked my CPU before and have decided to give it a go.

The highest i can overclock my Quad Core is 2.86Ghz. A 20% increase in stock speed!!

I just want to know...is that it???

I have read lots on these forums about adjusting voltage/RAM timings and i have not done any of that. All i done was change the bus speed.

I have an Arctic Cooling CPU fan, 4 case fans, so there is no need for me to worry about overheating.

Just want to know if i missed anything out or is it really that easy?

Cheers, and plz be kind :D

Nice one, is that as far as it goes on stock temps im guessing?

No. It's as high as it will go before my PC crashes.

I can only set the bus speed to 320 on my board, any more than that and the PC won't start....or is there another way?

I know my board, through online reviews, is pretty bad for overclocking.

See my thread on the stuck Striker Extreme, for a possible reason and fix.

In short, it seems that some boards have "FSB holes" frequencies which are basically kryptonite. It's possible that a MUCH higher FSB with a lower multi will be the key.

Or not.

Your CPU voltage is very low, assuming CPU-Z is reading it correctly. Set it to 1.35-1.375v in BIOS to start with.

Like i said this board is rubbish for overclocking. There is no voltage adjustment in the BIOS.

Still i think a 20% increase isn't bad.
