Hey not overclocked before and wanted some advise.... well actually id like to be told exactly what to do.

I have:
Core 2 duo E8500 (Processor)
ASUS P5Q Pro (Motherboard)
ASUS EAH4850 (Graphics card)
Tuniq Core Contact Freezer (Processor Cooler)
NZXT Guardian 921 (case)
Corsair 4GB (RAM)

i want it to be as fast as possible with NO CHANCE of shortening its lifespan or damaging anything in anyway

Doesn't work like that.

Go off & read the previous threads relating to what you want to do & your Own hardware & then come back with relevant questions.
You cannot expect people to spend there Free time educating every single person who is to Lazy to investigate there own issues First.

And as for your NO CHANCE line that is what got me going to be quite ****** honest.
 
i dont expect them too i just wondered if anyone felt like being helpful.. if you have better things to do feel free to do them! as i said im a newbie i dont know anything, ive read the previous posts but dont trust myself!
 
Do you really expect somebody to type out a Complete guide for overclocking ?

Like I said, Go read then when you get stuck come back with Relevent questions, You are Much more likely to get help.

Sorry if I was short I just woke up & am on nights.
 
Just by overclocking you void any warranty you would have had with Intel.
Read the stickys in this forum.
have a look for someone with the same setup as you (the P5Q is a popular OC board) you should easily be able to hit 3.8 and even get over 4+ with the right cooling.
