Morning all, I've never built or even thought about building my own system but I'm in need of a new pc and would prefer something a little custom for what I want.

It would be used for loads of Photo editing using Photoshop CC, Bridge and Lightroom also some video conversion and then the normal stuff surfing the net, Spread sheets and Word documents.

I've got a budget of about £1000 and don't need monitor mouse or keyboard.

While I've been reading various sites and picking parts this is what I've came up with so far :|

Case -ZALMAN Z11 PLUS BLACK MID TOWER CASE

Processor - Intel I7-4790 (3.6GHz)

Motherboard - don't understand enough about them to choose one.

Memory - 16gb at least

Graphics Card - Not sure if I need a stand alone graphics card

1st Hard Disk - 256gb SSD

2nd Hard Disk - 500gb - recycled from old pc to install all other programs on

3rd Hard Disk - 3TB - as a partitioned back up (1tb for photos - 2tb as back up of all data)

Optical Drive - 16x BDRW

Memory Card Reader - Would be handy

Power Supply - don't know enough to choose one

Processor Cooling - don't know enough to choose one

Wow thanks very much so excited to get this beast on the road!

Would love to know what this would cost to build please?
Then I have to decide if I take it on my self :|

You say it would be capable for gaming? How capable?
I've never used a PC for gaming always used an Xbox 360

Hi,

We Normally Add £60 for building and providing warranty on an Entry level machine such as this.

As for Gaming it will play all the latest games without any trouble, it does depend at what levels you will be playing at of course, but High detail levels on a 1080P Monitor should be achievable.

If you would like us to build it just give me a shout and I can setup a full system order for you.

Regards

Chris

Do you have a operating system? I can't see mention of one in your opening post, and that adds a further £75(ish) quid?

Hi,

Sorry I thought your 500gb drive may have an OS on it that you would want to use. If you would like an OS installing it would be an additional cost for the OS itself but we would install the OS and all the drivers etc for no additional charge.

if i were you id get a 280 instead of a 270x in there, for the small extra cost the extra performance is worth it imo, however 270x is perfectly capable, will play most games ultra settings at 1080p

Thanks for all the help .... I think I'm going to put off for a couple more month save up some more money, read plenty then attempt to build it my self :) suppose it'll give me something to get stuck in to over the winter

Just need some time to sit and read through the forum

Thanks again

It's not as hard as you think.
Plenty of us on here willing to assist if you get stuck. Bear in mind that you'll probably be hooked afterwards...;)

Morning Chris you supplied me with this price list a couple of month ago but due to some issues at home I still haven't got round to buying a new system I expect ill be buying on just after new year.
I've still been investigating different combinations and final prices and a different friends had something like the following built to use pretty much the same as me now I'm just wondering on your opinion of this system and how much it would cost to have you build it????

CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K 4.0GHz
CPU Cooler: Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro
Thermal Compound: Arctic Silver 5 High-Density Polysynthetic
Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z97X-SOC ATX LGA1150 Motherboard
Memory: Corsair Dominator 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3-1866 Memory
Storage: Samsung 840 EVO 250GB 2.5" Solid State Drive
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Storage: Seagate Barracuda 2TB 3.5" 7200RPM Internal Hard Drive
Video Card: Gigabyte GeForce GTX 750 Ti 2GB WINDFORCE Video Card
Case: Corsair Graphite Series 230T Grey ATX Mid Tower Case
Power Supply: Corsair RM 650W 80+ Gold Certified Fully-Modular ATX Power Supply
Optical Drive: LG GH24NSB0 DVD/CD Writer
Wired Network Adapter: Intel PWLA8391GTBLK 10/100/1000 Mbps PCI Network Adapter
Case Fan: Corsair SP120 57.2 CFM 120mm Fan
Case Fan: Corsair SP120 57.2 CFM 120mm Fan
Case Fan: Corsair SP120 57.2 CFM 120mm Fan
Fan Controller: NZXT SENTRY 3 Fan Controller

Also I want some blue lights in the case .... and is there a way to manually switch them off??
Would you advise Windows 7 or * for that set up? I've already got a Windows 7 disk but read Windows 8 is a faster system all together.

Thanks

Thanks for the reply if was to put more money in to it considering what I use it for ... Photo editing mainly what would you change?
