Newcastle Stag Do advice

Ghetto Golf is indeed Byker!

But TBH Holts Yard there is decent nowadays and you've got Tynebank Brewery and the Free Trade around the corner.

Hey all :)

Planning my best mates stag do for April next year and Newcastle is the chosen location.

I’ve never been so have some questions and after any advice.

  • Where would be the best area to stay? Close to nightlife and activities is essential as it’s a large group (20 people) so don’t want to rely on taxis and public transport
  • What areas contain the best night life?
  • Any interesting activities you’d recommend?
  • Any particular bars/nightclubs you’d recommend going to or avoiding?
Any other hints and tips would be greatly appreciated!

Forgot to mention a place called The WonderBar. It's a bar but also has interactivate darts which was fun. It's a real dart board and real darts with plenty of games to play on it. https://wonderbar-newcastle.co.uk/darts/

Newcastle is not a big city, you can't go far wrong really. Start at the Beehive and see where the night takes you!

I have had many a blurry night in the Toon and am a native of Tyneside. I am very out of practice these days but pretty much anywhere in the city centre is good for ' gan oot on he pop. '

There are plenty of places to stay and a quick Google has many a guide. just banter.co.uk might be a start.

Gan canny. ;)

There are lots of accommodation options in the City Centre. I'm assuming, given that it's a stag do, you want something low key and low cost? If you are arriving by train, consider the Holiday Inn on the corner of Westmorland Road and St James' Boulevard. It's 3-4mins walk from the Central Station. Plenty of bars nearby and within reach of all the main nightlife areas in and around the town centre: Grey Street, Bigg Market, Quayside. Or if you prefer something more personal, there are apartments to rent in the complex adjacent (Central Lofts), as one of many examples. Travelodge Newcastle Central is on the Quayside itself, with a Premier Inn nearby. Lots of bars and eateries within 2-3mins walk and the most picturesque part of Newcastle. Also some better hotels in great locations on the Quayside, such as Malmaison or The Vermont.

If you choose to stay near the Central Station or Quayside you can't go wrong, as everything is within short walking distance. The centre of Newcastle is very compact, no need for public transport at all.

Home town but a number of years since I lived there, and I can't therefore recommend individual bars/clubs. You won't be short of choice!!
