Planning a nostalgic trip to revisit some of the haunts of my student days, or maybe not, as I know that some of the following list are no longer in existence built if there are any Geordie forum members who could confirm if any of these are still cool pubs to visit, I’d be appreciated.

Crown Posada
Cooperage
Barley Mow
Egypt Cottage
Forth
Percy Arms
Broken Doll
Hotspur
Strawberry

These ones don’t exist anymore. Cooperage is still there but closed as a pub. Bridge Tavern is nice if you’re down by the Crown Posada.

The Cooperage was a fabulous little pub/venue, but it's in private hands and has closed. The building is basically being left to rot until it falls down and the land can be developed. Sore point for locals that one.

Egypt Cottage also closed around 15 years ago, as did the Barley Mow.

The Strawberry outside St James' is still open - in fact, that's less than 30secs from where I work. Office overlooks St James' Park.

One of the best nights I've had out has been in Newcastle, everyone is so friendly.

I was on a stag doo when some random Newcastle guy came up to me and asked me if I wanted a fight, i politely replied no thanks, he shook my hand and walked off lol

Ah yes, I remember that now.

I’d also forgotten the Trent House - I think it was somewhere near Leazes Park. Owner was an interesting character - Tommy Trent?

You could always pop in the Black Garter if you fancy listening to some terrible karaoke by the local alcoholic population.
