Hi folks,

Just a heads up for those living up north that Newcastle Restaurant Week has started: www.getintonewcastle.co.uk/restaurant-week

NE1′s Newcastle Restaurant Week is back! Join us from August 5th to 11th and enjoy great food at some of Newcastle’s finest restaurants for only £10 or £15 per person. - See more at: www.getintonewcastle.co.uk/restaurant-week

I always enjoyed it when I lived in Newcastle. 2 courses for £10 you can't grumble!

If you go, let us know where and what it was like :)

Isn't there supposed to be a really good authentic italian pizza place somewhere? anyone know what it's called? pretty sure its not prima ristorante

Prima is pretty average but that's my opinion.

I know a fancy looking Italian place has just opened at the top of Grey Street on the other side of the road to Costa.

The new Japanese place (Osaka) being done up on Grey Street looks pretty interesting and I've heard some good things about St Sushi.

Trust them to have this while I'm away at work - story of my life. I'm missing this and the Great British Beer festival next week. Sometimes I hate my job :(

Aaw boo!

I'm making myself sound like a right fatty...

Eat! is brilliant. I remember when they recreated the city in cake at Saltwell Park. My god it was intense. The whiskey/chilli festival was good too. Nom!

Ah man, I miss living in Newcastle now! Although I live 40 minutes from Birmingham these days and the Christmas Market is so much better than Newcastle's :D

Cal's Own? I do consider it my favourite for pizza especially the n'duja and artichoke one. Their menu is tiny, like 5 pizzas or something, and hey only do pizza

Ooh nice! I really fancy going this year, but all my weekends are occupied with something or other :(

I used to do some promo work with Blackfriars and it was just around the corner from my old office on Westgate Road, but I never actually went there. I presuming its nice?
