Hi guys, I just came home from work and had a delivery today of some new case fans & some cable tidying kits & a SATA cable.

So, fitted the fans, tidyd some cables. go to turn the pc on and i get (disk boot failure, insert system disk and press enter)

So, i panic'd and thought **** (as you do)

Rebooted. same error so i googled the error message
Ppl suggested changing the boot device priority [HDD] , [CDROM] etc...
Tried it, nothing..

The pc worked FINE yesterday..

Also i dont have XP on a disk, but could get it
(Also im no pc wizzkid so please try and keep it simple as possible:))

Sounds like when rearranging the cables you either knocked or forgot to plug the HDD lead back in.

By the way, the FAQ says you have to fully star out swearing :)

Im shure all the leads are in, and i tried the old sata cable as well as the new one

So you're 100% certain the SATA cable is secure at both the motherboard and disk end, and the power cable is plugged in to the HDD?

Does the HDD spin up at all?

Is the HDD recognised in BIOS?
