This is the second thread about this, sorry but i was on my iphone so couldnt give much info. Just build this new pc.

I7 Processor, OC to 4.2Ghz
6Gb RAM
1200w antec true power quattro
Asus rampage III extreme
Gtx 480 in sli
1tb samsung HDD
64Gb ssd.

I build the pc and started it, worked fine so i downloaded windows. I only had one card in so i switched the pc off at the mains and waited about 20 minutes and installed the second GPU and the SSD as i forgot to plug it in. When i powered it back up something fried i think, i smelt a little burning and then the power blew. Once i tried it again it just was just on a loop of restarting, no picture, just restarts. I took out the gpu and it still done it, aswell as the SSD. The motherboard seems to work as the lights are still lit up so i think it may be the processor. could someone please let me know if it could be anything else.

Thanks

I didnt get completely threw the windows install, maybe thats why ? i heard about something about "the infinite reboot", maybe its related to that.

Im not sure what its to boot from, the hd i think though. Ill try and take as much out as i can to find the cause. Are you sure it wont be the CPU ? as it doesnt get to bios maybe your right. Ive not got a spare PSU but i can get it replaced as its under warranty. The motherboard seems ok as all the lights are on, so if its just the psu that would be a relief but what could have caused it so i can avoid it in the future.
