Hi, me and my friend recently built a new PC, but for some reason, when the xp installation 'reboots in 15 seconds' the screen goes blank and the monitor acts as though there is no PC, even though it is still powered on.

This also happens when trying to reboot generally (in BIOS). Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Do another re-installation and see what happens, Whats the spec of your setup aswell?
Also, how is your hardrive setup, raid/non-raid?

Trying the install again has the same results. The spec is an a64 x2 5600+ am2 with a foxconn mobo and 2gb corsair ram (those 3 came in a bundle).

The HDD is on an IDE channel.

if you try tried re-installing then i don't think its a software issue. Double check the graphics card is seated properly and anything else you installed, and if possible, see if you can update the bios since the current bios version may be having problems with any of the hardware you installed on the motherboard.

Trying also doing what helmut, use one stick at a time and see if that fixes the problem.
