My friends PC packed in the other day, so he's bought a new mobo and CPU, and we're using the old PSU, RAM, GFX, HDD etc. I have built a system before and it all went smoothly and worked first time. However this time, the system won't even boot up. I wondered if the PSU was knackered, but he says that the PSU was working fine, but the system just wouldn't load into windows before.
I can't really think what the problem could be, i have followed the instructions from here same as i did last time. The only thing that was an issue was the front panel connectors, as the mobo he used (ASRock 929 A8X-M) was not colour coded like when i did mine. When i referred to the mobo manual it was quite confusing, how important are these? I have made sure the power switch connector is in what seems to be the right place but it just won't boot.
We're using:
ASRock 929 A8X-M
Athlon 64 3200
1GB Dual Channel Corsair RAM
Radeon 9600 Pro
Any ideas?
