hey,
I am creating a website and i wish to be able to post news topics into a central part of my website using PHP and a sql database. Iv looked around for a script that would allow me to quickly log in put in a news item then post it into some sort of central area of my site. Iv looked at content management systems but i dont like the way you use the template they give you. My site is art based so it needs a grungy, street feel to it.
Does someone have some code that would be up to the job?
Would the output go into a table or some sort of css based central pane?

Iv looked at learning to do this myself but could not find the thing i was looking for.

thanks

Learn PHP and SQL, it's much easier. That actually sounds quite simple- you could just password protect a certain directory of your site with a .htaaccess file, create a form with all your values to be submitted, then send them to the database with a PHP file and then simply echo them into a CSS based layout quite easily. I learnt PHP over the weekend and even though I'm not brilliant, I found it quite easy to get the jist of things :)

hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

Anyplace that would give me something like that to learn i did try that schools place but it wasnt exactly what i needed. So any good php place you could point me?

Have a look at TextPattern, an open source, lightweight content management system utilising PHP/MySQL. You will need to create your own design, obviously, but TextPattern should cover all the backend work, and the administration panel is quite favourable :)
