Hi All I,m new to newsgroups and just set up newshosting , i was downloading something and noticed files called Rar & Par & Nzb can anyone explain what they are and do i need any software to make them play ?

Rar files are compressed files - like zip files. Use Winrar or 7zip to decompress them
Par files are parity files - used to repair corrupt/missing files. Google Quickpar for more info
Nzb files are a bit like torrents. Assuming you have the software, the nzb tells the software where the files are

thanks i have winrar but not sure how i use it any help ?

Get an nzb file of the thing you want. This is like an index card that doesn't hold the information but rather a map to where the information is stored. This file can be read by a program such as Sabnzb. I would download Sabnzb from the web and give it the nzb files and Sab should do the rest for you if you setup Sab with your newsgroup provider.
