Currently using Newsleecher 3.8 Final (yes i paid for it lol) but it has a horrible bug of queueing files that you already downloaded into a "!" folder.

I have found a way to stop it by creating a .bat file but i have to run it every time and its getting annoying.

So my question is, what other decent newsgroup software is there, preferably free?

One with built in Par and Rar if possible or just PAR repair.

I get that bug as well

how did u fix it then? or you cant?
 
SABnzbd, or if you can't handle a lightweight service based newsreader... alt.binz 0.28.2 or something... Both free afaik, which makes paying for newsleecher even worse really?

Never had the bug you are on about with newsleecher, its been working fine and without and problems for me for years now.. Have you been on their forums, is it listed as a bug, i would have thought if it was then it would have been sorted out by now.
 
The trick with Newsleecher is to actually trust the beta versions, they are more stable than the final versions! ;)
 
GrabIT's new beta is much improved over the last releases, and now supports SSL. It also has, in common with most similar software these days, integrated PAR and RAR functionality :) If not, then another +1 for SABnzbd.
