What is the best newsgroup newsreader out there?

Looking at using astraweb to start downloading some stuff but have no idea what is the best newsreader I should be using?

Any help much appreciated!

What are the advantages of the paid for newsreaders?

Also after paying for newsleecher are you just given access to a username & passworded download mirror or something?

Newsleecher is great but I gave Alt.Binz a whirl when my newsleecher expired and I haven't looked back since.

SABNZBD for a number of reasons. 1 it's free, 2 it's very easy to use provided that you have a premium news server that has complete files, 3 it can recover your files using the PAR2 standard and it extracts them with its built-in archiver. Excellent piece of software. With me on the Mac I was using a program called Unison and was lucky to get 50-75% of my max connection and with using SAB I am getting full speed pretty much all the time.

Newsleecher is better for the uninitiated, sabnzbd is MUCH MUCH better if you don't mind a little messing around but full automation (much better than newleechers IMO).

Also i run sabNZB on a remote server in my flat, so i just use its http GUI, and place nzb files in a samba folder which is checks regulary, it also checked my bookmarks on newzbin and automatically dowloads them. So no matter where i am at a friends or at uni and i can log on to newsbin and just bookmark things knowing they'll be downloaded par'ed unrared checked and cleaned up etc... before i've even got home. Sab is the king really and fantastic considering its completely free...
