Been playing crysis and best i can get is MEDIUM settings.

Without spending loads, what the next best card i could get, not bothered if its a used one.

running 2.9ghz quad with 4gb ddr2 ram.

thanks for the input.

I'll check on the PSU, but its an uprated one. I remember buying it a while back.

What would i need to have crysis set at high lets say?

Totally depends on the resolution and whether you use AA or not. A mate can run it at 1440x900 on high with a Radeon 4850.

i use full resolution of 1980x1080 on a 23" widescreen monitor. No AA, well thats on my 8600gt.

its not bad, but once lots is going on in the game, the frame rate can drop a fair bit, and is getting a touch annoying now.

its already clocked from 2.6. its the 9950 black edition iirc. temps are running around 50-56 under load.

For that sort of price you could get a GTX260, Radeon 4890 or a 5770, all of which will be much faster than your 8600GT.

If it was me id get the sapphire 5770 :)

5770 is about £130, i'm happy with that. ATi cards seem far low power also. Which is good for me. nVidia's seem to be power hungry!

I got the saphire 5770 and installed it the other day. Excellent card!

crysis at HIGH and runs very smoothly :)

It requires a 450w supply, although mine is a 430w, no issues yet....
