Hi there. My spec is in my signature. I'm looking for the next best possible upgrade for my current spec. I play lots of FPS games such as battlefield 3. I find i still have some drops in frames when its all kicking off. I would love to try and eliminate this. Is my only option for this a second graphics card? I play at 1900 resolution. I can get another Evga 680 for £360 to SLI my current 680. Is this a wise upgrade?

Kindest regards.

I'd say that's the best way to improve your frame rates, yes.

I have researched and you won't get a bottleneck, so that is good news.

Awesome thank you for your time.

At least i dont have to upgrade the mobo, cpu just yet then :D

I was a bit worried with the new generation processors out right now. I didn't know if that was maybe the best way to go, but guess not :D

That's what i was research, you won't get many gains from upgrading CPU and motherboard. Not in games anyway.

Even if you did upgrade to ivy bridge, it wouldn't solve your BF3 Issues. You'd just end up having to spend more money, for another GTX 680 aswell as. :)

Yeah definitely. To be honest i was looking at 680 vs 680sli and was really impressed by a lot of the benchmarks. It seems as though you get a ton more frames. I will have to address the heat problem though, that being said i don't think these run as hot as gtx 480? I had two of them and they almost hit 100oc :(

The 480's are renowned for getting Hot so i don't think that you'll get upto those kind of temps.

What case do you have? Is the airflow good? You should be fine if you have a lot of air going around. :)
