Next best upgrade

the increase in games will be very minimal and without a fps counter you might not even notice it

but it depends on what else you do and if you have spare cash and nothing else to spend it on

5800X would give you the performance increase in games that run better with single core performance or multicore .

thought about getting higher airflow case ?

I don't think I can stomach a new case at the moment, just got mine all nice neat and tidy haha.

Yeah really I only game at 1440p, don't use my home PC for much else, browsing and some HDR video.

GPU would be ideal, but in reality a 5800X isn't a bad idea at all

GPU :p!

I just bought a Red Devil 6700XT haha.

Given the situation with GPUs right now I will likely be keeping this one quite some time, until things start to normalise.

Maybe I'll just wait I guess the 5000 series CPUs aren't going anywhere, could wait for when they start coming down in price.

I would agree with this especially if you play at 1440p or above, going from a 3600 to a 5800x with a 3080 @1440p the fps increase was minimal at best in most games with some showing no increase at all and certainly not worth spending £500+ on.

Haha, I know mate. 6700XT is a great buy in today's market. May I ask how much it was?

Haha honestly I over paid; it was 679.99, but luckily my old card more than covered it.

Yeah makes sense, I'll wait till they start getting a nice sale price haha.
