Next Bond film.. a comedy..

more comedic doesn't mean comedy. Bond films have always had comedic elements.
The issue is, there was a time where comedic elements actually added to the scene or character or franchise as they were simply comedic elements. These days? Comedic Elements means something VERY different; something more akin to comedy itself rather than just the "elements" portion. And that's the worry for those reading that.

Could just mean it is less grim, Bond has some dark humour in the past. Like after he shoots someone with a spear gun and says "He got the point"
I would have expected the article to have said a "film that returns to their comedic roots" (meaning we can expect the old style back) rather than being a "more comedic film" (which does not give us a compartive point to have a better understanding of what they are aiming for). Given that, and how "being more comedic" these days means poor jokes and slapstick (or worse), it's not unreasonable to believe they may go for the style seen in Thor Love and Thunder (again, or worse).

We always hoped for the best this decade past when stuff like this happens, but we've always been disappointed by what we get.

You most likely right but I'm trying to be optimistic.

It's blatantly not true as Barbara Broccoli had said there's no script and they're not going to even think about casting for 2-3 years. That said, John Cleese was Q, Simon Pegg was in Mission Impossible... just saying. She's also RADA trained and in my opinion actors that earned their chops through comedy often turn out to be very excellent in dramas. Take Steve Carrell for instance.
