Hi guys & gals!
Just briefly starting to put a build together (ordering in a months time or so) and I'll be building basically a completely new rig as my old one (4800X2 A8N-SLI mobo + 2x 7800 GTXs) is getting past it(built Oct 05).
The main use of the PC will be for gaming with its other uses being AutoCAD/Building Design software + photography uses (editting etc whatever the g/f needs it for).
Thoughts so far:
CPU: I'd like to go for an Intel (either i7 920 or Q9550 depending on what
you guys think is appropriate) and will be looking to dabble with some OCing.
RAM+Mobo: to suit the above.
Hard drives: I like look the look for the sammy SDD for use as my boot drive then with a larger standard drive as my storage.
Case: If I can, I'll use my old one (TJ04- Silverstone) but I've got a feeling it won't be big enough for the new GFX cards and I'm also worried about the heat build up inside it.
Sound Card: I'll be going for the Forte PCI-E(headphone user).
GFX Card: Best bang for buck out of the top cards (I use a 24" Dell 2405 monitor). - Not looking to go SLI for the forseeable future
Power Supply: to suit the above.
Budget: Not sure yet, I know that doesn't really help but I'll know in a months time. I'm looking to spend enough to get the job done so that it can handle games for a good time to come, however I don't want to waste money for unessentials.
Any advice welcome!
