Ok so with Battlefield 3, Crysis 2 (Dx11 Patch) and Skyrim more or less setting benchmarks visually what is the next game that is billed to be THE next spectacle on PC?

Doom 4.
Metro 2034: The Last Light.
GTA 5.
Mass Effect 3 could be good....it will not be demanding but look good i reckon.
Far Cry 3.

GTA5 may be a benchmark in the sense that if it is anything like GTA4 the graphics are nothing special at all, they just run badly due to a very crap port.
It will depend how the game stress the computer. If GTA5 is CPU limited (I doubt any game out there is tbh) then it may not be a good benchmark :).
GTA5 certainly won't look special at all if it is a port from the Xbox 360 which this coming Christmas will be 7 years old .

Can't wait for Far Cry 3. Hopefully it captures the magic of the first one, as the second didn't deserve the name.

Playing Crysis was what Farcry 2 should have been.
Then we got Crysis 2, which was also crap.

GTA4 was quite pretty at the time I seem to remember. But it was badly ported.

The latest video in the Max Payne 3 thread makes it look rather impressive. If GRID 2 is out in 2012 it will probably be up there.

Bioshock Infinite is built on UE3 rather than a frankensteined UE2 so will probably look and run rather well. I imagine the new Tomb Raider will look rather good as well.

you forgot the witcher 2 which technically blew them all out of the water and will be hard to beat for a while yet - their probably the only developers that bother with using the PC 100% fully. and no BF3 doesnt count since it doesnt even have any of the advanced next gen tech that the witcher 2 does.

I think Arkham City maxed out in DX11 looks pretty special if you ask me.

Does the DX11 work properly now? Just got the game, but not been following DX11 progress properly.

As for graphics, Arkham City does indeed look really good, even in DX9. Catwoman = win!

As for coming games, I think the upcoming Tomb Raider will be good for sure. Far Cry 3 looks interesting too. Bioshock also, all Bioshock games look good. I personally like Skyrim graphically.

Thats because it wasn't developed by the same team. Crytek (developed the 1st game) then went on to crysis ..hence the second crysis being ..well..rubbish :p
