Next Gen Card Sizes

While that is absolutely massive :eek: I still don't see the real problem. For example, as pointed out in the article, if you can spend £500 on a top of the range card you should have a decent sized Full Tower Case. I've just measured on my case and although it's long, it'll fit inside fine.

I don't like people trying to squish everything into tight spaces as heat can build up, especially if overclocking as well or using high end, expensive, components.

Just as if you wanted to go SLi you'd need to have a decent PSU now if you want high end graphics you need a decent case, and to be fair it is a good investment.
 
It'll still fit in my Akasa Eclipse

Anyway, with current cards you need to plug the connector in the back, with this one its in the top. So a X1950 XT + power connection probably equals the same length as the 8800 GTX...
 
I think the Akasa may still proove to have an issue, the Hdds may stick out a bit may need to do some arranging even cos I recall my 7800GTX close to the hdds making it bit difficult to install even.

I'm going to say, probably... no. Although it's hard to tell at that angle.

EDIT: Put a ruler next to it, if that fits then you'll be ok as the card is just shorter.

Not that im going to buy a G80 but if in my next upgrade the cards are this size i've got plenty of room to spare :D
