Do you think we will see the same this time around or will Sony / Microsoft be able to meet demand?

I remember seeing current gen consoles going for thousands on auction sites.

Hopefully, I loved all the crying last time. Christmas will be full of how little timmys or souljas christmas is ruined because they haven't got the latest console. :p

I'd guess they won't be able to keep up with demand and if that's the case then it's obvious some people will sell consoles at silly prices to make money. Which is exactly why i'll wait a few months after launch before getting a new console.

I got 2 xboxs' on release :D could have sold one for a big profit but sold it to boydy at cost.

I worked at an indie game shop during the xbox and ps3 launch

Preorders were taken but they literally recieved consoles to the store at a horrid rate like a few a week slowly ringing customers to see if they still wanted it before offering to the next person on the list

I remember with the ps3, it could only be sold if the customer also brough an official sony accessorie and one or maybe 2 sony licensed games (cant remember)

But people brought it as it was like the only way! I dont know if that was forced by the supploer or the store.

Hope its better this time! Theres only so many ways to force people to buy **** launch games ljke ridgeracer as the decent ones were all out

Yeah I'd do the same to a mate, can't see me having the same issues this time because I won't be in a hurry to buy it release day like before. I have enough games to be going on with and with COD released roughly at the same time it will be interesting to see how that is split on new gen and last gen.

I'll be getting an eggbox on release but I have a feeling i'll still mostly game on the 360 to start with.

i plan on preordering and getting a PS4 on launch atm but i am open to changing depending on future announcements, unfortunatly my wife has tiny hands and hates the 360 controller so she is less open to change.

it will depend very much on launch titles as the PS3 launch titles were dire iirc (motorstom was fun)

the big auction site takes roughly 15% commission now, so say you buy a ps4 for £400, it would need to sell for £490+ before you see any profit, when you take p and p into account as well.

therefore even if you sold one for roughly £600-£650, the auction site will be making the same amount of profit that you do, it's unbelievable how rich they are getting someone needs to bring out a new auction site that only takes 5% commission. it's getting so expensive to sell goods on it, it's actually making asian sellers more money, the same good to buy in the UK, is half price to buy from an asian seller.

If all the rumor's about the next Xbox being true, then you have no problem buying one come Christmas :P
