I currently have a reva04 2407wfp which has been a trusty stead since I got it in 2007. I am on the hunt for a replacement as part of a major pc upgrade. The current Dell will become a monitor for my server. I have been toying with getting a new Dell 24" but having seen the specs of the Dell monitors which have been announced, it seems I had better make a choice soon.

Not really interested in the Hazro WC due to a lack of HDCP and connectivity. I have the BenQ EW2420 as a server monitor and when hooking it up to my main machine, the greys were horrific.

Suggestions please. I would prefer 16:10 due to office work on the display. Primary uses are work, films and then gaming. Price range I'm generally flexible, say £500 ish. Could go higher if the monitor was worth it.

I upgraded from my dell 2405 to an dell U2410 :)

And am well pleased with my U2410

But would have been nice if it supported 120hz (O-well maybe next time)

Thanks all. You've confirmed my thoughts on current 24" screens :)

The trouble with the WAs is that they apparently suffer from very bad input lag. Granted gaming isn't high on the list but the TFT central review (IIRC) gave very poor results.

I have been looking at the Dell 27" which again has good write-ups. Depends on if I can get the boss to allow the upgrade :D

The Dell 27" looks like a great monitor. I was considering it when I was upgraded - but I went for the U2410 as I read people having problems with the small text.

The U3011 would be perfect but it's expensive - will be my next upgrade though hopefully.

I actually game quite a lot and don't really notice the input lag, I don't think it's at all a problem unless you played competitive CSS or Quake. You're really going to get the same results from any high end monitor as it's the scalers that cause it and most monitors at this level will have decent scalers. I mean your only other choices in that kind of area are the Dell U27 and U30 both of which have very similar input lag.

Have had 2709WFP for a while - superb, and recently got a 3011 , which is just stunning. In multi-monitor it makes me just so much more productive.

Good point, just checked and they all appear the same kind of times. That brings the Hazro back into play  Coupled with some of the calibration icc's these look good.
