I have the following:
AMD Phenom II 955 @ 3.2Ghz
8GB DDR2 800Mhz (x4 2GB)
Palit GTX460 2GB
Asus M4N82 Deluxe Mobo (Tri Sli ready)
60GB Patriot SSD
700W OCZ ModEx
nVidia 3D Vision with Samsung 2233 Screen (120Hz)
Most games run how I want, however I have started playing Final Fantasy XIV... was shocked to see how bad it ran with max settings.

My question is... whats next on the cards to upgrade?

Ta!

or
SLI with another GTX460
or

(Not sure how much of an improvement this will be though)

I also don't know how CPU intensive that game is, the i5 may not help much.

If you don't have much you may be able to pick up a cheap 2nd hand GTX460 for SLI, which should improve things -does your PSU have enough PCIe plugs for this (you'll need 4 in total).

Or save up and wait for the next generation of cards which will definitely offer an improvement :) Not sure when they'll be out, a few months or so.

Yeah the PSU is fine...
Sli vs Mobo, CPU & RAM (I have a Venom atm so no need to replace the cooler)

Which will give me more of a gain?

Hmmm, I'm honestly not sure. Someone else will know more but I imagine the SLI option is far cheaper and should improve things (assuming you're not worried about heat/noise!)

I think it's a fairly well balance setup to be honest. I'd buy a decent aftermarket CPU cooler and try and push for a better overclock, try to hit 3.6-3.8GHz maybe more if your lucky. Also try and overclock the GTX460 a bit. Are you playing FF in NVIDIA 3D?

Next would be as above, second GTX460 or sell your existing card and get a high end single card GTX570/2GB 6950/ wait a few more weeks and get a new generation card.
