My court date was 06 September 2007 for the charge of driving without insurance. I pleaded guilty by post and hand delivered the letter for peace of mind, my licence was included.

I today received a letter from the court advising that I now have a new court date of 27 September 2007. This is because of the seriousness of the matter the court may now disqualify me. WTF?

I now have to turn up at the court, which will involve higher court costs and the expense of a solicitor, obviously.

As it is saturday there are no local solicitors open, I put it to the OcUK brigade... wtf is this all about?

all you can do is tell the truth. turn up on time, look well presented, tell your statement clearly.

if the spacker behind the desk is having a bad day, youre done for, if he feels bad for you, you may do better.

was it advertised at the time? take in the auto trader to prove it, otherwise youll look like a blagger and hell nail you harder. if youre black or even simply a young male, id take a bus there cos youre unlikely to be driving back

how much is a solicitor charging you?

The only advert was on Rovertech unfortunately, but I guess I could try that. I've got the insurance certificate for when the car was insured and the insurance certificate for the bike I was using in place of the
car, this might show that I'm not a total *****?

Does anyone understand the reasoning behind this though? Its not like the circumstances have changed at all. I expected to be receiving some form of sentence back in the post (ie my endorsed licence).

Thanks for the support guys.

Stoofa: I agree mate.
