What would be a suitable step up in performance? Is there a single card solution or would two cards be a better or cheaper option.

Both cards are water cooled and I would want to keep that.

Andi.

Would definitely wait to see if anything coming in the next little while is worth while - 680/7970 isn't going to be really worth it coming from that setup unless you can get a good price for the 480s.

Two 770's assuming the rumors are correct. Either that or go for 2 X 680's second hand. I'm sure there will be a few highend watercooled setups which will be going cheap.

It looks like the 2 x 480's perform as well as a single 680, so there's no point in that route, will wait to see what the comes next or whether 2 x 680 is the way to go.

I imagine a single 780 would just outperform 480 SLI so might be worth getting two of those when they are out.

Not by allot actually, if at all. The Titan performs a bit faster than the 7970Ghz edition and if these benchmarks are anything to go by 480SLI is not far off 7970Ghz performance. We know that the 780 is a cut down version of the Titan so I really don't see much gain for the OP unless he wants a very fast single card.

Only upgrade path I see for the OP is SLI/Crossfire. Bang for buck this is going to be 7970 Ghz edition crossfire or 770 SLI (depending on prices).

the only way to beat that by almost double for under £500 is 2 second hand or members market 7970s overclocked to 1100+ for £250 each.

keep your cards for a while for the outlay over the performance not really worth it at moment

your cards will be 680gtx slightly quicker maybe area.

id wait for next range of cards.
