Next upgrade ?

OK so my system atm is getting old i know so i think its time to start getting new components. As I am still a student my budget is VERY limited and i am just looking for some opinions of what to upgrade and what's the best parts to get these days

Iam not really looking to change my hard drives as i have a dual boot with vista and ubuntu set and I am happy with it atm

its just some wee three hundred watt thing , no brand
and yeah pretty much that and web surfing etc but iam building it so that it can play games

well i mean with the extra part time work i will be doing over summer i would say that i will have a budget of about £200 or around that
but compared to some people on this site that is small change

just the one the system came in but iam going to get a decent mid tower with money i have from this months pay, something like this i think http://www.******.com/product/205154
then just put some fans in that I have sitting about to give me some decent air flow

can you put AMD3 processor in a AMD2+ socket ?
i thought that was i no go

ah thanks

also is the 5770 still worth getting, i was think i about looking in to that for an upgrade as my gpu sucks, although it did impress me by playing crysis on high at playable frame rates

and is flashing your bios not risky ( one of the things ive never actually done )

i have looked at reviews and youtube stuff but its all for slightly older games and i was just wondering how its doing, or if you needed something like a 6990 to get decent frame rates these days :L

cool, i think if iam keeping my cpu then i will keep my cooler, a freezer pre rev 2, the main problem is the temperament of my NB and the air flow around the cpu cooler which a case would solve. Using ranking sites they seem to say that my cpu is ok for playing games but my gpu sucks so i think its a psu, case and gpu that i really need atm

so i will wait and see how my pay turns out over summer and get some stuff bought
