Good Morning Overclockers,

I'm looking for a new upgrade, I may as well continue to upgrade as i just spent a pretty penny on my GPU. Don't want anything holding that bad boy back. I'm not too clued up when it comes to computers but i managed to fit the GPU myself. So if you could also tell me if you think it's possible to self upgrade or would it be worth taking it to a computer shop?

My Spec:

Radeon R9 Nitro 390 8192MB GDDR5 PCI-Express Graphics Card with Backplate (Just upgraded)

Intel Core i5-2500K 3.30GHz (Sandybridge) Socket LGA1155 Processor

Gigabyte Z68XP-UD3 Intel Z68 (Socket 1155) DDR3 Motherboard

XFX 650W XXX Edition Modular '80 Plus Bronze' Power Supply

Gelid Tranquillo CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940/AM2/AM2+/AM3/LGA775/LGA1155/LGA1156/LGA1366)

Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (KHX1600C9D3X2K2/8GX) [KHX1600C9D3X2K2/8GX]

250GB 850 EVO SSD 2.5" SATA 6Gbps 32 Layer 3D V-NAND Solid State Drive

Thanks again!! You've all been such a great help.

I'm probably going to need a new case too if any upgrades are going to be bigger. The R9 390 is massive and has taken up half of my case.

Not sure how good that cooler is bit first thing I would do is click that CPU to at least 4.5ghz. They can easy do more anyway. Should be good for a while

Oh and if you do want to upgrade (you don't NEED to) build it yourself. There's plenty of guides and you can always ask on here

Your board will take a i5 Ivybridge CPU (with BIOS update) but theres nothing to be gained from that.

You can put i7 Sandybridge or Ivybridge CPU into it, but if all you do is game then thats a waste of money too.

Having a look I cant see anything you need to change or upgrade.

You can overclock the 2500K to 4.5Ghz easily and there are many guides on what to alter in the BIOS to do that.

As you have a Freesync compatible GFX card, have you got yourself a nice 144Hz monitor? or maybe get one that is 144Hz+Freesync.

How about a mechanical keyboard and nice gaming mouse?

Your next upgrade should be your graphics card again because the rest of your system isn't holding you back. Overclock the 2500k and you should be good for at least one more GPU generation. If I were in your position I'd save the money for the release of Polaris/Pascal or maybe get myself some nice peripherals. A Freesync monitor wouldn't go amiss as stulid has suggested.
